Meet the Lawsons

We all are born with different gifts. For my husband his natural talents were in mechanics and building and for myself it is art and design. Combined Ray and I have over 40yrs of Design, Fabrication and Remodeling Experience.

Mr. Handy Lawson was born in Pordedone, Italy to an American military dad and Korean/Chinese mother. By the time he was 12 years old he rebuilt his first motor.
Discovering his natural mechanic and industrial abilities young he took advantage of opportunities he had like shop class and getting a 2 year certification in Industrial Electronics by the time he graduated high school. It was only natural for him to offer repair work services as a side hustle for years to supplement income.

Hannah grew up a multi nationally award winning artist and still signs her artwork in her maiden name ” Woleslagle” in the memory of her brother Tommy who passed away at 19 yrs old. He was also an Artist and the last thing he texted Hannah was to pursue her art.
Her parents had rental properties when she was growing up that she and her brother did the renovation work on alongside her Mother and Step Father.
When Hannah was 18 she got a job as a Housekeeping Manager at a Beachfront Motel in Florida at the time it was number 16 on trip advisor. However, 8 months later they became #1 hotel in Ormond Beach on Trip Advisor ( Beating out the Hilton ) and held that position the remaining 4yrs she was there. She also assisted with with property maitenence work there under the owner who is an GC until she was 23.
She then studied the art of Event Hosting through becoming an Introductory level Sommelier through Court of Master Sommeliers. Hannah accomplished this while managing a Restaurant and catering business in 30a and started and ran the 30a wine club until 2016 when she and Ray married.

After getting married; They combined their various skills to begin doing home repair and design together.
Within 2 months of intentionally seeking this type of work on a professional level the demand and opportunities were too frequent to not allocate more time and resources to developing a proper business.

That is how our Handyman “The Handy Lawsons” / Design + Build Business began
